I feel compelled to speak out. As a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Parish for 71 years, I attended Catholic grade school and high school. I have known many priests, and none have shepherded me as Father John Monieau has. When I was troubled, I asked for help coping with forgiving; he prays for and really knows so many of us.

His removal, seemingly without due process, was wrong. Father John signed off on clearances, and that was a mistake. If he was responsible for his staff, then should Bishop Larry Kulick not also be responsible?

Father John’s removal has affected me and my family more than I could have imagined. I struggle to support the diocese that has allowed this to continue.

Father John should be reinstated at Immaculate Conception and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parishes. He has been punished enough. We have been punished enough!

Please Bishop Kulick, we pray you do the right thing. Forgiveness, not arrogance.

And please everyone, pray for Father John.
