In her op-ed “Protecting Dreamers is a moral imperative” (June 14, TribLive), Gisele Fetterman again presents herself as a victim of a cruel immigration system, as she has for many years. She has previously described her memories of being reminded to live in the shadows and now speaks of a “limbo” that she grew up in, one that she says she wouldn’t wish on anyone.

As she lectures us, she should be reminded that it was her mother’s decision to break our laws. We owed her nothing, and instead of blaming our country, she should thank it and blame her mother. Now this once illegal alien scolds us from the lieutenant governor’s mansion, the halls of Capitol Hill and the editorial pages of our newspapers. The audacity seems to know no bounds.
