I have a serious complaint to make to the New Kensington mayor and city council: The streets are a disgrace. They are absolutely disgusting, and are a slap in the face to residents.

The solution is not patch on top of patch. Repaving is the answer.

I have been a resident of Mt. Vernon for almost 20 years, and the roads are worse than they ever were. Where is our street repair money going if not for road repaving (not patching)?

I know we have a lot of problems that need to be addressed, but the road dysfunction can be taken care of pretty easily. It’s a matter of having a little pride in our city. That would be a start to changing the image many people have of our city.

Show some initiative, mayor and city council: find the money and get our streets upgraded as soon as possible.
