Letter to the editor: Government not doing its job on guns

Why is it OK for the NRA to fight for you to have the right to have a gun, but they can’t give you the OK to buy a gun? Only the government can give you that OK after you pass the “instant gun check.” You either pass or fail.

Is the government doing its job here? Apparently not? Or is it?

Why is it that you can get banned from Facebook or Twitter for criticizing the president on covid, but it seems to me you can threaten bodily harm or threaten to kill someone and no one does anything about it? Can the people who did nothing be charged for those crimes, too?

Do we need more gun laws or more help from commonsense people out there?

Are we failing as a society here? Or have we already failed?

Why is it that the NRA always gets criticized for donating to politicians, but other groups that donate more money than them don’t?

Why do we have the same people in large cities committing the same crimes over and over again and not having them being locked up to get them off the streets?

Lots of questions, but who has the common sense to figure it out?

Maybe the ones blaming the NRA should listen to them to see what will work. And maybe those blamers should step aside and let the NRA make laws — line by line — one at a time.
