Letter to the editor: Governor wrong on legal marijuana

Tribune-Review

Listening to our governor say on the news that we are losing $250 million because Pennsylvania hasn’t made marijuana legal, and using the old saying that “other states do it,” made me sick.

Ever since I can remember, doctors have said it’s a steppingstone to other drugs. Our police are against it. And to think our governor prosecuted people who sold and used marijuana, but now it’s OK. He even wants to expunge drug offenders’ records.

What about people losing their jobs because of marijuana? Is he going to get their jobs back for them? How about someone who killed people because of drug usage? Is he going to raise them up from the dead? Why not go the whole way and make prostitution legal?

Politicians don’t know the difference between free and free rein. Win those votes at all cost. The state would make tons of money. So will the Centers for Disease Control.

Wake up, Governor.
