Since the merger of the Springdale Township and Cheswick police departments, it has been noticed in our communities the increased level of police presence and the amazing outreach the officers do on a daily basis. From driving down the street and waving, to stopping and talking to children and citizens of the community and handling police matters with respect and careful decision-making, they are very proactive and deserve more credit and recognition than they get.

We are very lucky to have such good officers in a time that law enforcement is under a microscope for actions of a select few, whether right or wrong.

I can only speak for my family, but we sleep better at night knowing we have amazing law enforcement officers like Officers Matt Morelli, Joe Albaugh, Craig Cummings and Chief Mike Naviglia, just to name a few.

Our officers deserve the highest gratitude that we can give them and our utmost respect.
