My mother would sometimes use the phrase, “cut off your nose to spite your face,” and this is exactly what some Americans did during the 2020 presidential election. When I ask people why they voted for Joe Biden, the typical response I receive is because they hate Donald Trump. Few knew anything about Biden’s campaign positions.

Well, we are barely into the Biden administration, and the end result of this idiom is already being seen. The U.S. voluntarily gave its energy independence back to OPEC and the Russians, which has resulted in increased gas prices and predictions that all energy costs will spike.

Biden endorsed the latest $1.9 trillion so-called relief package, even though the majority of the money has nothing to do with covid-19 relief and rewards blue states that failed miserably before and during the pandemic. I predict he will eventually reward left-wing Democrats for their support by endorsing most if not all of their initiatives.

Internationally, Biden will be the nice American president, and his administration will talk tough but do nothing while the Chinese Communist Party commits ethnic and religious cleansing, tightens the screws on pro-democracy supporters in Hong Kong, and threatens U.S. ally Taiwan. And because of his family’s shady business dealings, Biden can’t hold China responsible for the pandemic that has killed millions globally and caused economic chaos.

Yes, the people who despise Trump got what they wanted, which brings another saying to mind, “Be careful what you wish for … .”
