Kittens and cats are being brutally tortured to death in online videos daily. In terms of sheer brutality, utter depravity, tremendous suffering and pure evil, this is the worst violence ever intentionally inflicted on animals — for “entertainment.” Methods include dismembering, skinning, crucifying, eviscerating, burning and mutilating, to name just a few.
Most of the videos are made in China, where there are still no anti-animal cruelty laws. Inaction by Chinese authorities has allowed the torture to continue and spread online, including to the U.S. It is a global crisis. Last year, there was finally major news coverage on CNN and BBC but many still do not know.
Social media platforms, particularly Telegram, cannot allow such violent content. U.S. companies like Cloudflare and Cloudshare allow violent videos and avoid responsibility through legal loopholes. U.S. officials and law enforcement must intervene to end all U.S. involvement and implore Chinese authorities to enact long overdue animal protection legislation to stop cat torture video production and dissemination.
