Letter to the editor: How about a bottled water plant at Yough River Lake?

It is in the interest of Southwestern Pennsylvania that I write on the prospects of a purified bottled water plant or facility being placed near the Youghiogheny River Lake reservoir in Somerset and Fayette counties. Such a facility could bring revenue into the state and also help with with water shortages in different locales in this great nation.

The reservoir is used for boating, fishing, sunbathing and other recreation, but putting it and the people to work could aid the U.S. in a good, charitable way. Perhaps construction could begin as early as this spring. With the current federal administration in place, many would say, why not?

There would be many jobs involved. Building and operating it could even involve volunteers from the state university system who need low-paying internships to fulfill their degree requirements.

I hope this letter encourages people to get the ball rolling on such a facility in 2023.
