Regarding the Philadelphia Inquirer article “Biden’s faith makes history without fanfare” (Nov. 29): How can President-elect Joe Biden claim to be a faithful Catholic when he advocates and promotes abortion rights, even for late-term abortions?

Biden has stated he would reverse the Mexico City policy, which requires nongovernmental organizations to agree as a condition of receiving any federal funding that they “would neither perform nor actively promote abortion as a method of family planning in other nations.” Since President Reagan enacted the policy in 1984, all succeeding Democratic presidents have rescinded it, and all Republican presidents reinstated it.

Where is the Catholic Church? According to the article, even Biden’s bishop said he was “fine with Biden and that they were very close.” How sad when an estimated 52% of Catholics voted for Biden in the 2020 election. No wonder the pews were emptying in pre-covid-19 Catholic churches.

Stand up for our Catholic beliefs!
