Letter to the editor: Impeachment a historic cover-up

The impeachment “trial” in the Senate was always a foregone conclusion based on the numbers. In my opinion, the reason Republicans didn’t want to hear new witnesses was because it would have been harder for them to justify an acquittal.

I believe this will go down in history as the biggest cover-up ever. It can’t be called a trial without witnesses. Shame on the senators.

Also, I’m tired of hearing how President Trump is fighting corruption and draining the swamp. He’s put more people into the swamp than he’s taken out. I don’t understand why people cannot see this.
