The center-left populism was exhibited for all to see in burning cities and still the “educated” voters in the Pittsburgh suburbs voted for the clearly addled, seemingly semi-competent Joe Biden, who never renounced the mayors of these kindled Democrat-run cities. That’s the inexorable Exhibit A that shows just how infected with leftist populism the middle class has become. They’re so bewildered they can’t see straight.

And so the Republicans should have taken President Trump’s wise advice and passed his $2,000 covid-19 relief payment to everybody (even “the rich”) with exuberance, in order to win both Georgia senatorial elections. The Georgia polls began to erode for the Republican candidates as soon as Senate leadership balked at the increased payment. Mitch McConnell and his Republicans in the Senate couldn’t hold their noses and suck it up and, so, lost the Senate.
