Letter to the editor: Iran’s nuclear weapons

In March 2025, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard told the Senate that the intelligence community “continues to assess that Iran is not building a nuclear weapon and Supreme Leader Khamenei has not authorized the nuclear weapons program that he suspended in 2003.” Of course, Benjamin Netenyahu has claimed for 30 years that Iran is close to having nuclear weapons, and the U.S. has adopted that position in recent years.
