I believe that the leftist, progressive, socialist movement has shown itself to be the polar opposite and enemy of our country’s founding principles and a cancer in our society. The Democratic Party is its face with President Obama’s promise to “fundamentally transform” our country. The overwhelming majority of news media, corporate America, big tech, social media, education, pro sports, entertainment, Black Lives Matter and antifa are all complicit.
The Republicans in Congress have proven to be spineless, hapless and ill-equipped to deal with this diabolical evil, but they are content to pretend to resist while accumulating wealth. The whole cabal was content with the status quo, to the detriment of our country and its people.
Then along came President Trump! Crude, unpolished and with a tarnished history, but patriotic and willing to confront the status quo and endure the incessant onslaught of lies, accusations and harassment on our behalf. The colossal suppression of his myriad accomplishments for our country have left many still unaware, but he brought life, pride, hope and enthusiasm to those of us who judged him by those fruits.
But alas, we’ve rejected our founders and chosen the dark side. We have elected a 48-year denizen of the swamp who has dredged up and resurrected a boatload of fellow swamp-dwellers to populate his cabinet. Jan. 20, 2021, was the day that the cancer finally claimed the host — the day the music died. Bye-bye, Miss American Pie!
