In his letter “Media biased against Republican candidates” (Aug. 26, TribLIVE), Peter Busowski insists anti-Republican journalists’ stories are full of “innuendo and half truths.” If he is referring to stories about Sen. Doug Mastriano, the Republican candidate for governor, I would like to remind him that Mastriano refuses to do interviews with mainstream journalists and does not allow them to attend his political events.
The First Amendment permits journalists to write articles which factually and truthfully describe Mastriano’s comments about Pennsylvanians who are non-Christian, Muslim or gay. Those articles also remind voters what rights they could lose if Doug Mastriano becomes governor.
