Letter to the editor: 'King' Wolf taking our freedoms

Tribune-Review

As another Independence Day is upon us, here’s a quick review of why we broke away from England. It seems that Thomas Jefferson had a poor opinion of King George III. The main problem — poor customer service. George never listened and he had no competition. Tom understood that competition is the only cure for incompetence. So we had to start a competing governmental system.

Tom even listed 18 examples of the poor service that soon-to-be American citizens had to put up with. Get your copy of the Declaration and read those reasons for yourself. It only takes a few minutes.

How grateful I am that it was Thomas Jefferson, not Thomas Wolf, who wrote our Declaration. We’ve seen how easily the new “king” put his coronavirus crown on. In a matter of months, freedoms were taken from us. Lack of attention on our part can quickly lead to tyranny. So we recently experienced what it can mean to only have a Bill of Rights — you get to choose which of the 10 you want, the others are taken from you. With no apology.

God has blessed America, even though we were forbidden from attending church.
