Letter to the editor: Kirk's death should not be celebrated
The assassination of patriot Charlie Kirk was horrific and devastating. While most Americans are mourning this loss, there are some celebrating this killing. My friend was at a doctor’s office when they announced that Kirk was dead. She was in shock and saddened by this act of hatred. A man in the waiting room heard this news and shouted “Good, good, good.” Revolting. Social media has people mourning for Kirk and his family while others are happy about this act of hatred.
Enough is enough. If you are calling for the harming or murder of your fellow Americans because of their beliefs, their support of our president, or supporters of MAGA, our flag and/or our nation, you need to take a few minutes to acknowledge that you have fallen into the rabbit hole and sinking fast.
I am a proud American. I support President Trump and his work to Make America Great Again. Because of my beliefs, I received a coward’s anonymous hate letter at my home. However, just as Kirk did in his brief time on earth, I will continue to speak out in support of the greatest country in the world — the United States of America. I can only pray that other patriots will do the same.
