Letter to the editor: Kiski Valley community center needs support
Regarding the article “Senior citizen forms nonprofit to help generations come together in Vandergrift” (April 3, TribLive) concerning a proposed community center for the Kiski Valley: A community center would give our many young people and seniors an educational and recreational facility that’s not currently available in our area. A community center would bring additional households and businesses to our area, but we need the community to volunteer and help.
We need the business, religious and citizen community to band together to make the center a reality. It’s been a challenge to recruit board members for the proposed center. Community, church and businesses leaders have thus far not responded to any call for participation. This is an open invitation to participate in making the community center a reality. We need board members, no experience required, just willingness to volunteer.
