Letter to the editor: Leadership matters — vote Jill Cooper

Tribune-Review

I am writing to express my strong support for Jill Cooper as the best proven conservative option for our state representative in District 55. Many politicians talk a good game, but very few actually get important things done. Cooper proved in her first term that she is committed to meeting and listening to her constituents, and she works hard to get things done.

She has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to fiscal responsibility. She fought hard for responsible budgeting while eliminating wasteful expenditures and advocated for tax relief for hard-working taxpayers. She has been a staunch defender of individual freedoms and limited government intervention and has consistently voted in favor of policies that protect our constitutional rights and personal liberties. She has a conservative voting record.

She also possesses the necessary experience and leadership skills to effectively navigate the complexities of an extremely polarized political landscape and deliver tangible results. While House Republicans and Democrats disagreed about almost everything, Cooper sponsored a bill which helped high school students, parents and school districts and received overwhelming bipartisan support. Although a freshman legislator, she was among only seven of the 101 House Republicans to have a bill passed last year.

I urge all voters to support Jill Cooper in the primary election April 23. Let’s keep a state representative who fights for our conservative values and is effective in getting important things done for all Pennsylvanians.
