Letter to the editor: Let’s confine rule-makers to 25%

Quite a bit of information regarding covid-19 is available with dissenting views from medical experts who don’t agree with the government’s stance of masking, social distancing, quarantines and closing the economy.

I think the most ridiculous rule is forcing restaurants to operate at 25% capacity (until Sept. 21, when they can move to 50%). Would those who enacted these rules and all in favor be willing to self-quarantine all their activities to 25%?

This 25% would be all-inclusive, including salaries, staff, travel vouchers, car allowances, meals, lodging, etc. This rule should be made retroactive from the date of inception until the economy is reopened.

Some of you are so fearful that you willingly will give up the greatest economy the world has ever known.

Where is the America of self-reliance, innovation and the courage to successfully challenge those who advocate the status quo of acceptance without questioning? This is America, and we have a right to live our lives in a society unencumbered by questionable rules.

One question for those responsible for this rule: Please explain your reason for choosing the targeted businesses.
