Letter to the editor: Let's look at the Republicans
I’d like to respond to the self-indulged “expose” of the Democratic Party, the letter “Democrats have become party of evil” (Sept. 20, TribLive), by taking a closer look at Republicans.
First, many of them claim they don’t like gay people but they drive around in pickup trucks flying flags with another man’s picture on them. None of my gay friends ever crushed that hard on a guy.
They run from the truth as if it were a covid shot. They get their news from Fox News even after Fox had to pay $780 million because they’re liars. The only time Fox ever told the truth is when they testified in court, under oath, that they’re not really a real news source. They had to admit that they are only an entertainment channel and even that’s a stretch. Getting your news from Fox is like cashing your check at a bank after they’ve told you “all we have is counterfeit money.”
They also believe anything President Trump tells them even though he’s probably the most documented liar in American history. If Trump told them dog poop tastes like pumpkin pie, I think they’d run down to the pound with a fork and a can of whipped cream.
They’ll vote for anyone with an R beside their name no matter how unqualified they are. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, George Santos — sounds like roll call at a Mensa meeting in Bizzaro world.
I suspect this letter-writer is like a lot of ex-Democrats who use the free time and money provided to them by Democratic policies to whine about how the party let them down because one transgender person won at a swim meet.
