Regarding the article “Database of police misconduct launches in Pennsylvania” (July 14, TribLIVE): This is baloney. It is a waste of tax dollars.

We ought to talk instead about all the good deeds done by police on a daily basis. For example, one late night in February, two inebriated men were banging on my door, trying to get into my house. Guess who came to my rescue? The New Kensington police. Another time, my granddaughter locked us both in my laundry room. Again, guess who came, and stayed a few minutes and assured my granddaughter she wasn’t going to jail? You got it, the New Kensington police.

Have we forgotten that these men and women put their lives on the line every time they report for work? Please, God, I hope not!
