Letter to the editor: Life won’t change much no matter who is president

This is an open letter to my Trump-supporting friends. I have some that I know about, and I’m sure some I don’t. I have at least one brother and a sister who voted your way.

Yes, I voted for “the other guy.” He didn’t exactly stir my imagination and I winced as I sealed my envelope, but he seems to be my best choice.

Now, let your Democratic friends gloat a little, as you did last time. Remember?

But not to worry — after the hoopla, I doubt there will be any earth-shattering changes. The simple truth is, the president is not really the big power in the land. The real power resides with the CEOs of big corporations.

Let’s face it, America, for better or worse, is a plutocracy and money-driven.
