Letter to the editor: Longing for safety of Trump

Tribune-Review

The world was a safer place when Donald Trump was president. During Trump’s term in office, a Middle East treaty was signed, creating trade between Israel and United Arab Emirates.

After Trump met with Kim Jong Un, missiles were no longer launched from North Korea. The people of Afghanistan could live in safety, where women’s rights were respected. Russia, having invaded Crimea during the Obama-Biden administration, was kept at bay by Trump from invading Ukraine.

After Joe Biden and Kamala Harris took office, the U.S. suffered a humiliating withdrawal from Afghanistan, resulting in the Taliban terrorizing the Afghan people. Hamas restarted bombing Israel, and North Korea restarted launching missiles. Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine, and now many are worried about a pending World War III.

A reversal of Trump’s energy policy has contributed to skyrocketing fuel prices and importation of fuel from Russia by the U.S. and its European allies — further subsidizing the Russian war effort. Meanwhile, Putin is brokering a deal with Iran to sell the U.S. fuel in exchange for nuclear weapons production in Iran.

I wish the Republican leadership would stop calling for the murder of Putin (which only escalates the tensions of conflict between the U.S. and Russia) and instead start calling for the voluntary resignation of Biden and Harris, to be replaced with Trump and Mike Pence.
