Letter to the editor: Look at ability, not personality, when voting

Tribune-Review

I’d like to use the process of elimination to determine my vote for president.

Legal immigrants who often risked their lives to seek freedom and opportunity escaped socialist countries like Cuba and Venezuela to come to our country can’t understand how any American can vote for a socialist for president. And this is the direction that the influential left wing of one political party is rapidly heading.

Also, I would eliminate any party that refused to build a wall to reduce drug and sex trafficking on our southern border.

And I certainly can’t vote for a political party that seems to excuse mobs who destroy private businesses, burn police cars and promise to defund our law enforcement.

Also, please don’t believe all the flowery promises that any politician might make in Hollywood-produced TV commercials. I would consider job performance, not TV promises. I would look at ability, not personality. Ability to create jobs for all Americans, ability to destroy ISIS and ability to broker Middle East peace settlements that previous presidents failed to do.

It seems clear as to who not to vote for if you want what’s best for our country and our children. It has nothing to do with who you like better, or who sounds better, or which party you have always voted for.
