American history has had several momentous conflicts that divided its people.

The American Revolution divided Tory against Patriot ideals. Thomas Paine’s “Common Sense” swayed many to advocate for independence.

The Civil War divided Union against Confederate ideals. Harriet Beecher Stowe’s “Uncle Tom’s Cabin” swayed many to choose Union ideals.

The Vietnam War divided establishment versus anti-establishment values. Walter Cronkite’s broadcasts swayed U.S. policy to exit Vietnam.

Today, the country is divided between pro-Trump and anti-Trump sentiment.

Ignore the anti-Trump propaganda of personal destruction and simply ask: Is our economy better today than it was four years ago?
