Letter to the editor: Look in mirror to ‘do something’ about violence

If hate truly has no place in America, if we truly want to “do something” about violence in our society, we each need to look in the mirror. It is only through individual responsibility that we will begin to turn back the tide of violence.

How are your relationships? How often do you lash out at others you disagree with?

Yes, sensible laws are necessary, but “the government” can’t do it alone. “We the people” need to each do our part to restore decency and respect for our fellow human beings. And yes, Mr. Trump, that means you, too.
