I watched a livestream of “The Nutcracker” as performed by the Westmoreland Ballet, accompanied by the Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra, and filmed in myriad locations throughout our area (“Westmoreland Ballet films ‘Nutcracker’ at iconic area locations,” Nov. 30, TribLIVE). It was magical!

In this sad and scary year, with so much acrimony, it was a blessing to spend an hour and a half immersed in the music, the dancing, but most importantly in the celebration of our shared community.

Thank you to all concerned for your commitment to the arts, and to providing a momentary respite, replete with memorable connections to happier times spent with family and friends.
