It is that time of year when we vote for school directors, council members and mayor. Running for reelection on the school board in the Freeport Area School District are Adam M. Toncini, Greg Selinger and Michael J. Huth, all who voted yes to raise your taxes last year. After attending the last couple school board meetings, it sounds to me like these three want to raise your taxes again.

Now is the time to make yourself heard at the ballot box and elect school board members who will stop the bleeding. People work all their life to own a home, and year after year, the school district raises our taxes.

Very interesting when I received my ballot for Freeport Borough Council and the mayor, they are all write-in votes. Six openings on council and a mayor vacancy. This shows how much interest these elected officials have when they cannot take the time to circulate a petition to get on the ballot.

Hopefully things will get better; they can’t get much worse.
