After reading Ramesh Ponnaru’s op-ed “Democrats should blame themselves, not Joe Manchin” (Dec. 21, TribLIVE), I definitely feel that we need a third party. At least Sen. Joe Manchin, the West Virginia Democrat, has enough guts and grit to stand up to the progressives, who I think are really socialists, and do the right thing. He should come together with Rep. Liz Cheney and form a new party. Cheney, the Republican from Wyoming, also has guts and grit, standing against Trump and his followers. They could get this nation running smoothly again.
