The purposes of our government are clearly stated in the Constitution. Among them: protect and promote the well-being of all citizens. Often our government has let us down. In the upcoming May 18 special election, we have an opportunity to make our government again work for the working families in our area. This election is for the District 59 state House seat vacancy left by the tragic death of Mike Reese. His shoes may be difficult to fill, but we have a candidate who has the experience and background to do the job.

Mariah Fisher grew up in this district and knows the difficulties people have with jobs, income, health and child care. She is a small business owner. Her experience on the Ligonier Borough Council has shown she is able to work with diverse community groups, small businesses, law enforcement and families to get the job done. Her work on The Diamond Renaissance Project, the first local National Night Out and finance and planning committees have given her a wide set of skills to apply to local problems. Fisher’s focus is on building the economy and jobs, quality education for our children, providing rural broadband, affordable health care and preservation of our natural resources.

If you are ready for government to take its obligations and purpose seriously, consider Mariah Fisher for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
