One of the first tests of new Pennsylvania U.S. Sen. Dave McCormick was how he would vote on the flawed nomination of the unqualified, immoral Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.

McCormick failed his constituents, providing the deciding vote to install Hegseth.

Throughout his campaign, McCormick cited his military experience and the West Point Code, which he asserted is important to him.

Now it seems we have found that what is most important to him is not an individual’s qualifications and character, but to demonstrate loyalty to Donald Trump, without whose support McCormick would not have been elected.

No doubt McCormick will bend the knee to Trump and vote to approve all of the other joke candidates he has nominated to radically transform the country and trample upon the nation’s values, candidates which we know Republicans would have excoriated had a Democratic president named individuals to important positions as ill-suited to them as Trump’s cast of characters.

We get the kind of government we deserve.
