Letter to the editor: Media not fair and objective

There were three letters — “Renewables vs. fossil fuels,” “Help citizens, not immigrants” and “Where’s reporting on border?” — and a George Will column headlined “Cartel of nations ravenous for global tax” on the July 15 editorial page that were well-written and very compelling. The points they all made were on target and obvious.

There is something else that is equally obvious: The “mainstream media” have completely failed their responsibility to be fair and objective in keeping the citizens informed. That responsibility is why the founders of our great nation gave the strongest constitutional protection to the press in the First Amendment of the Constitution.

Rather than keeping us informed with objective, fact-based reporting, I believe they have become “attack dogs” for the increasingly left-leaning Democratic Party. How else to explain their silence as President Biden and the radicals use billions of taxpayer dollars to support illegal immigrants (new Democratic voters) and spend trillions of dollars on giveaways, and then idiotically claim that corporations and the wealthy will foot the bill, or punish real energy producers while subsidizing “pie in the sky” dreams of “green” energy sources that are decades from being affordable and reliable?

How else to explain that, rather than challenging the proponents of these destructive schemes, they continue to bash President Trump and his family?
