Letter to the editor: Media's treatment of Biden vs. Trump

Tribune-Review

In a press conference Jan. 25, “reporter Jeff from NBC” asked Joe Biden a “question.” Biden answered, “… And I know you ask a lot of these questions, you know the answers, but you have to help educate the public as well. I’m not suggesting you don’t know what I’m about to say.”

Scripted and rehearsed “questions and answers” to spoon-feed the public propaganda? “Reporter” asks pre-screened “question” so Biden can “answer” it and “educate” us with his practiced propaganda?

In contrast, reporters often conspired to script “questions” for President Trump, but he was never in on it.

On May 11, CBS reporter Weijia Jiang asked Trump a “question” that was really a loaded accusation: “Why is this a global competition to you, if every day Americans are still losing their lives and we’re still seeing more cases every day?”

Trump answered: “Well, they’re losing their lives everywhere in the world, and maybe that’s a question you should ask China.”

Jiang, following her script, then did an Oscar-worthy portrayal of a “victim of racism” by dramatically removing her mask and, feigning offense, asking, “Sir, why are you saying that to me, specifically?” (Um, because you asked the question maybe?)

The other reporters played their supporting roles well, pretending to be “shocked and aghast” that Trump said that to an Asian American!

Trump, realizing he was the teacher dealing with nasty first-graders not interested in learning anything and playing pranks on teacher, cut the event short and left the playground.

The “noooz” that night led with “Trump racist to Asian reporter,” etc.
