Letter to the editor: Misconceptions on vaccines, Biden, voter rights
Recent letters to the editor have blamed the poor inoculation progress in Westmoreland County on not having a health department and the county commissioners. I believe the fault lies solely at the state level. It doesn’t matter whether a county had a health department; none knew when, or how much, vaccine they were getting. Meanwhile, Giant Eagle and CVS were administering the vaccine in West Virginia in early January, but not here. The state had since September, but did next to nothing to prepare. You can read about President Trump’s strategy on the hhs.gov website.
Several letters indicated President Biden is an honest and caring man. I guess they forgot that in 1987 he lied about his law degree, class standing and that he had three undergraduate degrees. He also plagiarized a speech, resulting in his withdrawing from the 1988 presidential race. As for being caring, just look at what he is doing at the southern border today.
Another misconception is states are passing laws that suppress voter rights. The vast majority of these laws actually clarify voting processes and improve security. In my opinion, the media and the administration are misleading the public. The recent Georgia voter law has been labeled as voter suppression. It actually improves the process. Even The Washington Post gave Biden four Pinocchios.
