The left complains that the rich don’t pay their fair share. The right thinks President Biden spends money like a drunken sailor. Americans don’t save much money. Republicans have a solution to all three problems.

Replace the federal income tax with a national sales tax. The tax would not apply to money saved, only money spent. The rate would be the same for all sources of income. The rich, middle class, welfare recipients, seniors on Social Security or Supplemental Security Income, SNAP benefits and all other sources would have their purchases taxed at the same rate. The government would give a rebate if they don’t spend the money collected. Over 50% of Americans today pay no federal income tax. That isn’t fair.

Imagine life without the IRS. Also, the government raises taxes on the wealthy when it needs more money. If Congress needs more money when there is a national sales tax, it would have to raise everyone’s taxes. They will be more careful with our money.
