Letter to the editor: Nazi comparisons disrespectful
I cannot believe people are equating our current situation to the Holocaust and Nazi Germany. It is an insult and not respectful of the millions who died at the hands of the Nazis. It is an insult to the survivors.
We are not being herded into cattle cars, we are not being forced to move into ghettos. We are not working in concentration camps while the ashes of our loved ones are drifting out of the chimneys of the crematoriums and covering us as we work. We are not being forced to wear striped uniforms and sleep on planks of wood. No pillows, no blankets, no mattresses. Heads shaved because of lice infestation.
The Nazis took lives with no remorse. I cannot equate wearing a mask, social distancing and limiting contact to what humanity endured during the Holocaust.
Think about it, people. Respect the dead and those who endured one of the most horrific periods in the history of humanity.
