President Biden ran for office with the repeated promise that he had a plan to end the covid pandemic. Before the election, Biden 1) criticized President Trump’s January 2020 action restricting travel from China as “xenophobic,” 2) promised to shut down the virus but not the country, 3) promised not to impose vaccine mandates and 4) hailed actions by Govs. Andrew Cuomo and Tom Wolf. Meanwhile Kamala Harris in an early October 2020 debate declared, “… if Donald Trump tells us that we should take it (the vaccine), I’m not taking it.”

Only six days after the 2020 election, Pfizer reported success with early trials for a vaccine developed under Trump’s Operation Warp Speed. Vaccinations began Dec. 14 and were well underway before Biden took office, even though he never shared his “plan.” In the following months under Biden, we saw OSHA implementing vaccine mandates that courts later ruled unconstitutional, firing of unvaccinated workers including military, mask mandates that frequently changed with pronouncements by Dr. Anthony Fauci and the CDC, and emergence of the delta variant.

In the fall, Biden rejected distributing home test kits, but as omicron raged and death rates climbed, millions of Chinese test kits were delivered in the dead of winter to sub-freezing mailboxes in northern states, despite warnings that kits should not be stored below 36 degrees F.

Then, with the impending State of the Union, truckers’ convoys approaching D.C., Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and Fauci’s unexplained disappearance, the pandemic was suddenly over. Nice plan, Joe!
