Letter to the editor: Nicole Ziccarelli for district attorney
After three decades, isn’t it time for new leadership in Westmoreland County’s law enforcement? Times have changed, but crime rates continue to surge. Approaches to combating it must change with the times.
Westmoreland County needs a district attorney who will stand strong against Gov. Tom Wolf’s incursion into our rights and protect us as citizens. Too little progress has been made to combat opioids and narcotics as the drug cartels flood the United States, and yes — Westmoreland County — to prey upon our citizens. Too little has been done to show our young people that their lives need not be cut short by the barrel of a gun. Remember — they are our future.
Nicole Ziccarelli will provide that new direction as the district attorney for Westmoreland County. A graduate of Penn State and its Dickinson Law School, Ziccarelli has a steel spine and an abundance of energy, as well as broad experience in both prosecution and her own law practice.
She strongly believes in being tough on crime and the protection of victims. As the mother of four children, she will vigorously prosecute violent demonstrators, renew the fight against drugs and expand juvenile reform efforts to stem the tide of youth violence and death. In addition, she will expand the Veterans Court and focus on securing all available state and federal funding to minimize operating costs.
Please join me in voting for that new direction we so badly need. On Nov. 2, let’s vote Nicole Ziccarelli for district attorney.
