Letter to the editor: No comparison between Trump, Reagan

Tribune-Review

The letter “Trump, like Reagan, was a great president” (Jan. 23, TribLIVE) made me laugh. I wasn’t a fan of Ronald Reagan’s presidency, mainly because I felt he hurt working men and women, as well as the labor unions, when he fired the air traffic controllers in 1981. But there is no comparison between Reagan and Donald Trump.

I truly believe Reagan loved America and wasn’t in it for an inflated, narcissistic ego, nor was he a fascist RINO. Reagan never shamed the Republican Party of old, or America. I truly believe Reagan would have resented what Trump did to this country with the insurrection at the Capitol.

Trump was far from a great president. In my eyes, he was the worst thing to ever happen to this country. If ever an American president deserved to be impeached, it was Trump, and he should never be allowed to hold any American political office again.

The writer also commented that she is fed up with “socialist Republicans.” But she supports a fascist dictator in Trump. I wonder if she supports the likes of Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene, George Santos, Matt Gaetz, Jim Jordan and Kevin McCarthy, Sen. Ted Cruz, and the rest of the RINO party.
