Letter to the editor: No dignity from Biden, either

Letter-writer Ed Svitek states that it’s “Biden’s job to restore our dignity” (June 10, TribLIVE) and writes about lies by President Trump and Republicans. When a person makes a false statement, it could be because he or she does not have all the facts; when a person lies, he or she knows the truth but chooses another way.

Trump was and is far from perfect. He loves this country, respects innocent life, doesn’t play politics well and doesn’t know when to keep his mouth shut, but he did what he said he was going to do before he was elected. Now let’s look at Biden and the Democrats.

In his first 100 days, Biden made 78 false or misleading statements, according to The Washington Post. House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler lied about collusion. House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff got caught in multiple lies during the impeachment and Mueller report hearings. Then we have the queen of lies, Nancy Pelosi.

It’s ludicrous to believe that only one party lies. They all do it, and Biden has become an expert with 46 years to perfect it.

If you tell a lie long enough, it becomes the truth to some people. Biden might survive as long as his wife, Jill, is beside him telling him, “Joe, pay attention!” George Washington mythically said, “I cannot tell a lie.” I bet President Obama said, “I cannot tell the truth,” and Biden says, “I don’t know the difference.”

If this is the dignity Biden brings, then it won’t be happy days again.
