It seems to me the inexperienced people on Allegheny County Council are out to screw residents of the county. We are one of the highest taxed counties in the country, and I don’t think we get anything in return. Nobody wants to move into the county or even start a business because of how high the taxes are.

Here’s an idea: Think outside the box! Enough taxing the people who did not make the deficit. Attract big business and stop trying to gouge them. Yes, cuts may have to occur, and of course it will impact lower-paid workers who can barley survive now because of the state of the economy. Go after the higher-ups and let them make the sacrifice.

So, has county council instituted a freeze on all unnecessary spending? I doubt it, but one thing you can count on is an even bigger exodus of resident from Pittsburgh and Allegheny County. It is not the residents’ fault, and we should not have to pay more to bail out the county because of incompetent politicians with zero vision!
