The voting system we currently use has a proven record of being the most effective at protecting our votes. The $7 million approved by our county commissioners was an investment to ensure our votes count. Thank you.

Why do Commissioners Sean Kertes and Doug Chew want to switch back to paper ballots? Most of our voters prefer the convenience of the voting machine. Is it because the current administration wants to manipulate the results while promoting the lie that Donald Trump won in 2020?

Now, two of our commissioners are spending well over $18,275 (including last year’s $40,000 cost) on paper ballots because these same two commissioners are bound to a small group of voters who collected 5,000 signatures for paper ballots. Not even 5,000 voters requested paper ballots at the polls! Did you consider the additional cost of the poll workers needed to carry this out?

Somehow, our two commissioners can’t find the funds for even a single drop box. This should be about citizens’ right to vote. The new postal changes could delay mailed ballots, and with many lacking drop boxes, their votes could be denied. And I think that’s exactly what these commissioners are hoping for.
