Donald Trump, only a year in office, bombards us daily with actions that disturb our collective peace of mind.
Thus far, he has abused his pardoning powers, defied release of the Epstein files, denied health benefits to millions, destroyed farmers’ overseas markets, flattened the East Wing to accommodate his ballroom, started criminal investigations of his enemies and taken control of a sovereign nation, Venezuela, seemingly in order to capture its oil.
Most troubling is Minneapolis, where masked ICE agents harass and intimidate citizens and noncitizens alike, leading to the killing of Renee Good and Alex Pretti. ICE agents are seen dragging people from cars, spraying peaceful demonstrators with mace, using brutal takedowns and forcing people to show proof of identity, much like they once did in Nazi Germany.
As if this weren’t enough, Trump threatens to destroy NATO with a military takeover of Denmark’s Greenland, a NATO ally. In fact, there is no threat in Greenland where we already have access to military bases. Yet Trump seems to be obsessed with Greenland even though the entire issue threatens to destroys NATO and jeopardize world peace.
All of the above show the dangerous direction Trump is leading our nation and why it is no wonder we find no peace of mind.
