As a resident of North Huntingdon Township, I am alarmed by the lack of transparency surrounding the July 7, 2024, crash on Clay Pike Road that left Kathleen Morcheid with a traumatic brain injury. The driver, Nolan Patrick Mullen, who was going 90 mph on Clay Pike, was charged but quickly released on his own recognizance. Months later, a judge rejected a plea deal, yet officials have offered no clear public update on the case or justice for the victims.

Nicholas Carrozza, who has sought accountability from Township Manager Harry Fulk, police Chief Robert Loughran and Chief Detective Ronald Zona, has faced charges for filming in the police lobby and speaking at township meetings after being denied due process. This imbalance of scrutiny raises serious concerns about how power is exercised and who is protected.

All residents deserve transparency, accountability and equal treatment under the law. North Huntingdon’s police and board of commissioners must rebuild public trust by allowing full access to the information of this case and ensuring justice for the Carrozza family.
