Letter to the editor: Not missing Trump

There was a yard sign on a lawn I passed the other day. It had a depiction of former President Trump groping a U.S. flag with the caption, “Miss Me Yet?” I thought to myself, absolutely, no! Here are just a few of my reasons why.

President Biden:

• Has respect for all races, ethnicities, religions, genders and lifestyles.

• Has empathy and shows compassion toward the needs of those not so fortunate.

• Is a lifelong public servant dedicating his life to his country.

• Understands and defends the building blocks of our democracy, our Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

• Utilizes experts in their fields when in need of advice or opinion.

• Acknowledges that science is essential for the survival of this planet.

• Is working to regain trust and respect from our allies.

• If necessary would stand up to our enemies both foreign and domestic.

• Has solid objectives, sets goals and fulfills them. Yes, in less than 100 days!

I rest easier at night knowing our country is in the hands of someone with experience, integrity and insight. So, no Mr. Former President, I do not miss you!
