Regarding the article “GOP senatorial candidate Mehmet Oz to tour Central Westmoreland tech center” (May 4, TribLIVE): I’m glad Oz is showing interest in the importance of supporting tech training.

Over the past few decades, the emphasis on college has led to an almost complete disappearance of tech job candidates. Now we see the left pushing for college debt forgiveness. This shows a total disregard and vindictiveness toward the working man and woman.

The left used to be the party of the working man; no longer. Debt forgiveness for college? What about the money that tech people put into their jobs, or debts of farmers with their equipment? I guess the left doesn’t care about that debt. Next time a liberal’s air conditioner or toilet breaks, call a gender studies student and see how long it takes to cool your house off.

We need more tech and manufacturing training in this country, now. It is reaching epidemic proportions.
