Presidents Obama and Biden must share responsibility for the war in Ukraine. In 2014, Putin walked into Crimea without a shot being fired. This came after Obama told Russia’s president at the time to tell Putin (then prime minister) he would have “more flexibility” after he won the 2012 election. The U.N. and NATO did nothing except condemn Russia. Any fool can see that this was a major steppingstone for the coming war. The president of Ukraine just after the Crimea annexation, Petro Poroshenko, begged Obama and the EU to sell and supply the Ukrainians with the military equipment needed to defend itself. Obama refused.

This war may have been averted had it not been for Obama’s self-interest, the disaster in Afghanistan and a weak Biden administration.
