I apologize for borrowing from your “Laurels and Lances” without permission, but I feel it is appropriate for three letter-writers in the Sept. 6 edition.

Laurel: to Gary Pedicone (“Waking up to craziness,” Sept. 6, TribLIVE). It seems all citizens are in a coma or stupor these last 43 months.

Lance: to John Bentz (“Hypocrisy in what’s allowed, not allowed,” Sept. 6, TribLIVE). Gov. Tom Wolf cannot control the individual stupidty of people or the laxness of local government in enforcing restrictions. Besides, the performance he mentions was at an open-air venue, not the closed space of a bar or restaurant. Hello!

Lance: to Dorothy Otto (“Veterans proud to support Trump,” Sept. 6, TribLIVE). Here is one 10-year veteran who does not support Trump. As a volunteer for military service, I have no respect for those who’ve shirked duty to country. And I think anyone who does not believe the diagnosis of bone spurs was bought and paid for by President Trump’s wealthy father is a fool.

I have two friends, both with 20 years of voluntary military service, who feel the same as I do. Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Trump should be ashamed to hold the title of commander in chief.
