Letter to the editor: On decency, George Will should look in mirror
George Will has been a Trump basher and hater from the day President Trump announced his candidacy. However, even given his disdain for the president, his rant June 4 exceeded all boundaries of decency and fairness. The only place I have seen such a spewing of insulting hatred is on the internet where cellar-dwelling computer “heroes” vent their self-righteous ignorance and hatred.
While he pummeled and insulted Trump and all who supported him, his tunnel vision found no reason to mention the lies, false accusations and country-dividing investigations perpetrated by the Democratic Party. Nor did he think it important to point out the now obvious nefarious efforts of some in the FBI and Justice Department to destroy the Trump presidency.
I suggest if Will wants to see America return to decency, fairness and reasoned discourse, he start by looking in the mirror. He should ask himself what has happened to his intellectual honesty and journalistic integrity. Based on the lack of those qualities in his article, I don’t expect he will question his own flaws, but one can always hope.
